Little Goldie

Last night Halle performed with the Lakeside Golddusters. Last weekend they held a clinic for all girls pre-K to 5th grade. Each group learned a little routine and they performed them last night. Halle had a great time. She also enjoyed staying to watch the football game and half time with the band and golddusters.

Lets see if you can pick her out in these photos. It is like playing "Where's Waldo?" I don't know why she got in the back. She is probably the shortest one out there! Oh well, I tried my best to get her pic. She had fun anyway!

We Have New Babies!

Our german shepherd Raine had puppies about a month ago. She had a rough delivery and only 4 puppies ended up surviving. We have 2 girls and 2 boys. They will be 6 weeks old next Thursday. They are so cute!

The puppies will be ready to go next week after their shots. If you know anyone who might be interested in having a puppy, please let me know.

The first pic is of the females we have. The second pic of our males. The last pic is a group shot of them all together.

A Visit With Mammaw and Pappaw

On Monday afternoons Halle goes to dance classes in Hot Springs. We usually go for a bite to eat and run errands until her class starts. Today we went to visit with my grandma and grandpa. My grandma hasn't been feeling well lately, so we wanted to pay her a visit. They are such sweet people and we love them very much. My girls are crazy about them.

A Big Thank You!

Okay guys, I'm finally getting with "the program" and changing up my blog. But I will tell you, I NEVER would have figured it all out without some help. Kari graciously came over this morning and talked me through the whole process. I'm not sure if I can remember it all, but I am going to continue to play with until I get it just the way I want it. So I'm sure you guys will continue to see changes as I experiment with arranging things on my blog.
Thanks again Kari! You're a great friend.

Parent's Nite at School

Monday night was Parent's Nite for 1st grade at Lakeside. They served pizza first, then we went to Halle's classroom and did activities with her. She enjoyed getting to show us around. Brant asked her teacher how she was doing and if she was on target with her learning. The teacher said, "Oh, she is way ahead." Then she said, "The talking, we are working on." Imagine that! I told her if she discovered the secret to getting Halle to be quiet when you need her to-then she needed to let me know! I just can't seem to understand where she gets the "talking gene" from. (I know those of you who know me well are dying of laughter right now!)

Potty Training

Kennadi got a new pink potty for her birthday. She has been showing some interest in the potty, and even sitting on the big potty from time to time, for several months now. I decided I would wait until after her 2nd birthday to begin to actually try to train her.

So, last week I went and purchased the Pull-Ups and decided to begin. Let me just say...she is not really into pottying anymore. She has gone potty on her pink potty once since we got it. I am now going to back off for a few more weeks to see if her interest will pick back up.

The other day I knew she needed to go but she was refusing to sit on the potty. So, I decided to bring the potty to her. I mean who wouldn't want to watch TV while sitting on the potty? Ok-this was a desperate attempt to get her to go, I know. Needless to say - it didn't work. She sat on it, but that is it. I thought it was funny and snapped a few pics. You can't see them well b/c the sun was coming in the french doors, but I love the one of Emmi sitting beside her. Emmi is looking at me like "I get in trouble when I potty in the living room!"

I don't think I am as concerned about Kennadi being potty trained like I was with Halle. It must be the second child thing. I just hope she'll be trained by Kindergarten!

Family Nite at Family Farm

Some of you are familiar with Family Farm and the May family. Our church had an outing to Family Farm this past Spring. We had such a good time that we planned another outing there. We visited Family Farm again this past Sunday afternoon.

We spent the afternoon playing on the cable swings (yes, my mother took Kennadi on the swing), visiting the animals in the petting zoo, riding the pony, eating, and we even had a baptism in the pond.

All in all, the evening was a big hit once again. The May family is so sweet and they love sharing their place with all the kids. Thank you to them!
